My name is Simone Mendez aka “curls and crossfit” or the “fit tax-accountant.” I had played collegiate volleyball and after the season was over, I yearned to join a gym that provided the same competitiveness and camaraderie as volleyball did. I joined Carson Crossfit in 2013 and I’m extremely grateful to be a part of this family. I have a passion for fitness and to be better, stronger, and faster. I coached high school volleyball and have hosted plenty of workouts to members within my community. I started coaching at Carson Crossfit in July of 2017.
I still strive to be a great athlete/crossfitter, and my goal is to motivate others to keep a positive attitude and to work hard no matter what. A motivational quote that I would like to share and that is near and dear to my situation is: “You learn more from losing than wining. You learn to keep going.”
I coached the Reform class. My style incorporates volleyball training with crossfit. In other words, I focus on speed, muscle endurance, plyometrics, explosive movements, and basic crossfit routines.
